Cavalry | rough to finished art production | Final Fantasy War for EOS

I sketched out black and white compositions for these troops and put it together in a 7 page document with with both written and visual information such as: a description of what the illustration was to show, the time of day, camera angle and color palette. This was sent out to the vendor to finish and I provided guidance such as written art direction and paint-overs to bring this to a high level of finish.

Three separate troop designs were needed. I first sketched out several black and white compositions and settled on the ones that had variety and visual interest.

This was my rough black and white sketch that went out to the vendor. It had all the elements I wanted to convey a strong woman troop: confident pose, gaze looking to the horizon, lighting and depth into the far distance.

I gave the outsourcing team a workbook for the each of the troops which was 3-4 pages for each troop. This is a page from one of the workbooks that gives an overview of what was expected for the final art. Lots of other direction was contained inside
